Item Group describes the nature of the items. Here the user can create unlimited item groups and group hierarchies for different nature of items.
Working with Item Group in RealBooks
Creating of Item Group
STEP 1: Go to Masters ⇒ Inventory ⇒ Item Group ⇒ Create
STEP 2: Once you click on Create, Item Group Master creation page will appear.
Fill in the details in the fields provided in every tab:
1)General
Item group name– Name of the item group.
Under- Select the group under which the item group lies.
Tax configuration- Select whether the tax is optional or compulsory.
Visible- If this feature is enabled, then the item group will be visible for item master & reports and vice versa.
Is service item – If this feature is enabled, then the stock will not be maintained for the items of this item group.
Effect in stock- If this feature is enabled, then the valuation will be visible in the closing stock.
2) Tax Configuration
Tax Nature- Select the nature of the tax, like Exempt, Non GST, Nill rated or Taxable.
If it is taxable, then fill in the details –
Tax Group- Select the tax group as per requirement (like Inter-State Input, Intra-State Input, etc).
Tax type- Tax type will automatically appear based on the tax group.
Ledger name- Select the tax ledger name.
Rate(%) – Tax rate will automatically appear based on the tax ledger.
Exclude Tax- If “Yes” then the GST will be computed on item rate, if it is “No” then the GST will be included in the item rate.
Avail Credit- To avail input credit Select “Yes”.
STEP 3: Now click on save to create an Item Group.
Viewing of Item Group
STEP 1: Go to Masters ⇒ Inventory ⇒ Item Group ⇒ View
STEP 2: Once you click on View, Item Group list page will appear.
Editing of Item Group
STEP 1: Go to Masters ⇒ Inventory ⇒ Item Group ⇒ Edit
STEP 2: Once you click on Edit, Item Group list page will appear.
STEP 3: To Edit Item Group Master– Click on the pencil icon, the Item Group master will be available for Update.
STEP 4: Once you have updated the details click on save.
Deleting of Item Group
STEP 1: Go to Masters ⇒ Inventory ⇒ Item Group ⇒ Delete
STEP 2: Once you click on Delete, Item Group list page will appear.
STEP 3: Once you click on the cross icon to delete the Item Group Master, a confirmation message will pop on the screen.
STEP 4: Once you click on OK, the item group master will be deleted.
